Upgrade? Can I just copy the original connectionconnectionstrings page from the server to my desktop, then overwrite all the files on the server, then overwrite the new connectionstrins page on the server with the one copied to my desktop?

Hi,

No, in this case you will not be asked to upgrade the system. App will find the connection string and will try to use it.
