installing NopCommerce on Manage Server

extracted the source code to local machine. Open the .snl file and run the Nop.Web.project in Microsoft Visual Studio.
Published the Nop.Web on local , but cannot install Manage Server.

I am new to NopCommerce. Any tips would be appreciated...
I have extracted the source code to local machine. I then opened the .sln file and run the Nop.Web.project in Microsoft Visual Studio. This works fine on my local machine.

However,  I'm not sure how to go about installing on my managed server. I have tried publishing .exe as well as open source code, but either way I don't see it on the ip address.

Please advise,

1. Build the solution.
2. Right click on Nop.Web and click Publish.
3. Select a directory and publish the application into it.
4. Deploy your site to IIS.

Can you please explain step 4. Deploy your site to IIS.
I should use the VS to Deploy to IIS or can just copy published file to IIS website via ftp
