Performences admin?

Hi

We have a client 3.90 thats about to go over 1 million ordres!
But as more orders come in, the slower the admin runs, dashboard / order overview.

What can be done to speed things up again ?
Any ideas ?

You need to implement a process to delete orders that are older than so many months or years.
Either write a c# procedure, sql query or I also use Access connected to SQL to do data maintenance.
Shrink the database can also help.

Deleting orders will remove diffrent stats from the dashboards, but I guess it's one way to speed things up agian.

Yes its good to look at those big numbers in excess of $1 million lol but better to have a faster admin :)
Maybe It would be good if there was an option to lock in the values for the previous periods as the history totals rather than calulated. Then the second step of deleting the orders would not affect the history.
