Does somebody know what the difference is between Paypal Direct & Paypal Standard & Paypal Express.

If you will go to this address (or go to paypal.com and go to Business) you will see a recommendation wizard. It recommends the type of Paypal you would need for various situations. Standard is free, Pro has a fee you have to pay monthly, and there are other variations.
There is a feature list for all the Paypal solutions. You would need to look this stuff over because there are too many differences to cover here, especially not knowing what type of service you are looking for.
