Changing product photo dependigly on two product attributes? Possible?

Is following possible?

Let's say we have 3 types of T-Shirts: White, Red, Blue.
And we  have Three Digits to be printed on Each T-Shirt for example: 1, 2 and 3.
We have 3 photos of T-Shirts on the product page: White, Red, Blue.
Also we have 9 product PHOTOS: White with digit 1, White with digit 2, White with digit 3 / Red with digit 1, Red with digit 2, Red with digit 3 / Blue with digit 1, Blue with digit 2, Blue with digit 3

What we need is to show the product photo dependingly on selection(s).

So step-by-step:

We select White color — White T-Shirt is shown
If we select Digit 3 then it shows White T-Shirt with digit 3
And etc.

Is that possible? Or any other ways to do such selections?

you can get pretty close with the built-in attribute system.  

upload all of the individual pictures for the product, generate all of the attribute combinations, then select the relevant picture per combination and the frontend will change to that image upon selection

Sorry, I do not know.  I only have 4.2, which works as shown above.
