Does the 'upgrade' work over two version upgrade?

Does the installation upgrade method described in this video: https://www.nopcommerce.com/Screencasts/UpgradingNopCommerce.aspx

work if you wish to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.4? Or is it recommended that you upgrade by level. In other words, upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3, check everything is ok, then upgrade to 1.4?

My question arises from whether or not each "level" of version is smart enough to do the appropriate sql database changes between multiple revision levels.

You need to do all in between versions. 1.2 1.3 1.4
