Embedding a store within a site with different themes?

Hi all!

I understand the concept of a topic, which helps with custom pages within a shop site, but my requirement is to have a shop buried inside a site. The external pages will have a different theme to the site. See http://www.carr-taylor.co.uk and the shop inside at http://www.carr-taylor.co.uk/shop which is the site I will be replacing the existing shop with nopCommerce.

Now - the current problem is a state one. The existing shop is an ASP site, the external pages ASP.NET. What I need to know is if there is anything I need to do to persist state with nopCommerce if the user goes from the shop to the front page and then back to the shop? At the moment the basket is lost due to the state issue.

I'm interested in this as well.  I'm currently considering using this awesome looking product, but it would be for sites where I want the store to be a section within my site (as I have my own custom CMS and very customised themes), or potentially be a separate area altogether with a different template.
