malformed URL for login?

Ver. 3.5, repeatedly in System Log:

"Originating page of exception.Page URL: http://[mywebsite.com]/tradingpost/tradingpost/login?returnurl=/tradingpost/boards
The referrer URL.Referrer URL: /tradingpost/boards"

The URL of my site is obviously /tradingpost/ - is this happening after the user's session times out perhaps? Ideas?
