Please provide documentation on publishing a site from development to production. What files need to be copied as files such as database connections are not. Consider developers that work on a local machine and then need to publish to a production server. Need to know all of the details to avoid break in service. Initial publish and also follow-on updates after the initial go live.

Thanks.

agreed. I just deployed and it's not working right. When adding items to the cart my cart is empty. Also the "administrator" link at the top doesn't show up.

is there Nop.Plugin.Misc.WebServices for 4.0?

No, we recommend to use some third-party Web API plugins

As it says in the release notes "Moved the following plugins to the marketplace - Australia Post, Canada Post, USPS, Google Shopping, PurchaseOrder, "Customer has one of these products in the cart"

When can I expect those plugins in Market Place?
We plan to upload and update all plugins within a week

Any  ETA on the updated Extended reward points functionality plugin? https://www.nopcommerce.com/p/2720/extended-reward-points-functionality-nopcommerce-team.aspx

Hello nopCommerce Team,

When do you think an update will be released for nopCommerce 4.00 for this plugin

Here are my experiences with deploying NopCommerce 4.0 and suggestions for NopCommerce 4.0.1…
Problem:
Customers are complaining that when they use search, the results listed as they type are not the full results and they didn’t realise that there were more items available (actually this has been a problem since at least version 3.4 but I have only just been made aware of it since I am upgrading from that version).
Suggestion:
When more results are available, the listing under the search the text “click for more results” should be displayed, when clicked taking them to the same page as the “search” button.

Problem:
When building and deploying the solution, the built-in plugins are not deployed.
Suggestion:
Please document how to deploy the plugins through web deploy (web.zip) or correct the issue.

Problem
When setting up a build pipeline with VSTS, for multiple environments (e.g. Dev, Test and production) it is required that the database connection string is different. The recommended way of doing this is using json file transformation (given app.settings is not used for connection settings) but the json file is not deployed along with web.zip.
Suggestion
Deploy the default json files (such as dataSettings.json) with empty strings if they are not modified…

Problem
Unit tests currently don’t work with the built in Visual Studio Unit Test environment (and there is no documentation that I can find to do it the “nopcommerce way”) which adds complexity to both local execution and using a deployment pipeline such as VSTS.
Suggestion
Add Microsoft.NET.Test.Sdk and NUnit3TestAdapter to each of the test projects (note: at least 17 unit tests still fail for some reason!)

Problem
When upgrading a database using Azure Query Editor (Preview) the following statements with cause the query to fail “Go to” and “Go with”
Suggestion
Escape handling is not implemented correctly and must be corrected or change strings to say “move to” etc.

Great to see the new Core based version!

Couple questions-

-We've been deferring upgrades for a long time, so our site at https://www.deadlywind.com is currently running version 3.20. Is the upgrade path still no issue from this far back, basically just run each database update script in succession?

-I'd like to simplify our site theme and use something out of the box, mostly to reduct upgrade headaches later. Is there a "dark" version of the built-in theme we could try? I logged into the demo admin and didn't see any theme options.

Thanks!

Hi Brady,

Right. The upgrade procedure is still the same - http://docs.nopcommerce.com/display/en/Upgrading+nopCommerce
