New indexes since 3.8

Hi,

I won't have an opportunity to upgrade a site for client from 3.8 to 3.9 then 4.0 for quite some time.
I would like to take advantage though of newer table indexes in 3.9 and 4.0 releases for db performance reasons, on my 3.8 db schema.
Could someone provide a list or script of those introduced since the release of 3.8 please, or point me in the right direction?

I guess i could pick through them all and run with a begin/rollback in case some new (newer than 3.8) field are in them first?

Also, you don't think i could make things worse by doing this, do you think what I'm doing is a good/bad idea?
