When I try to check/uncheck some options under Admin/Settings/General Settings => Top menu items and then click save I see that the changes I did were not saved.
I just tried to switch back to the Default clean theme. it was successfully switched. Then I tried to switch back to the custom installed theme. It says "The settings have been updated successfully." but the Default clean is still selected.
Do you see any errors in the log? Admin > System > Log
