Commodity codes

Hi All,

Can anyone shed any light on this, apparently it's now a requirement for international shipping yet I can't find any documentation on it at all.

I agree, we should have HS codes in the product setup and contry of origin.
Then this could transfer to the shipping system and make international shipments easier.

Would you elaborate on that?  Shipping Provider plugins in nopCommerce are 'method/rate calculators'.  They don't create the actual shipment with a carrier.  Would those codes just be 'informational' so that your staff can put them in the shipping papers?  (Would the codes affect the rate?)

HS codes are needed for international shipments, We use shipworks for example to create labels, and for international shipments, we have to enter HS codes and country of origin for each product in the order. The codes are used for customs to calculate the customer's import duty.

Those codes could be transferred from nop if there was a place to enter them.

think we really need 3 fields

Export Commodity Code
