I can't change product sorting in admin panel

Is they a way that I can change the default value in the "Sort By" field?

I would like to have some product  sort by product uploading date in descending sequence.  (Magazine back issues where we want to show last uploading product to display first)  (i.e. may 2019,april 2019, march 2019 etc.)

Also, in the "Sort By" field, what does the "Placement" option mean?  

I could not find any information on this in the user guide which we have purchased.

it is not possible out of the box, hope nopCommerce includes that on a future release soon.
