I was updating from 4.0 to 4.4
And went with latest version of 4.40.2 and was having lots of issues with it.
Was slow and unresponsive and was bring site down and back up again.

Don't know what the 4.40.0 or 4.40.1 was like
But had to update to 4.40.3 and now all seem good.

Release of 4.40.3 had these notes, so guessing on of them was issue
#5586 Fixed the issue with increased memory (moved back to Autofac)
#5587 Added caching to the "GetAppliedDiscounts" method
#5592 Routing errors when English is disabled
#5591 PayPal SmartPaymentButtons plugin. No redirection to the confirm page
#5590 Null validation when searching
#5561 #5545 Error when filtering on the order list page

Im not on 4.40.3 and seem stable again

I have published a 4.4.2 site now, and it seems slower than 3.8 which is in production.
its on the same server so it has the same amount of resources.

https://pikantunder-v44.azurewebsites.net/primadonna-holiday-swimsuit-dark-olive - 4.4 (810ms per refresh)
https://pikantunder.no/primadonna-holiday-swimsuit-dark-olive - 3.8 production (about 600ms per refresh)

If i keep using the 4.4 site its "fine" - but still slower than 3.8, but if i let it idle for 10-15 minutes, its SLOW.

Was this your experience on 4.4.2 as well?

There was an issue with 4.40.2 consuming too much memory, but that has been resolved with #5586, and also #5587 may help - I haven't tested 4.40.3, but my basic install of 4.40.2 doesn't have any issues.

I guess it depends on your server specs (ours is rather high!): http://nop440.socksandboots.com/

That was very snappy! Are you using distrubuted cache as well? We have snappy sites as well, but 4.4.2 isnt fast at all.

No, distributed (both Redis & SQL server) slowed it right down I'm afraid.

I do use the CacheTagHelper on various views though (you can see where there's a date/time).

You might be aware but your filter isnt working. Probably because of your custom tag cache helper?

Yeah, it's just a site that I used for load testing, so will never be used anyway :)

The site is now live with 4.40.3 -
https://pikantunder-v44.azurewebsites.net/
Still feels slower than production on 3.8 which is on the same service plan(Server)

The service plan in azure is at Premium V2 (P1v2) - 1 instance.

Upgraded serviceplan to (P2v2) and now its quite snappy :)
