We are using nopcommerce 2.4 version on our ecommerce website and facing intermittent slowness issue . Will upgrading to the latest version help in resolving the issue? How should we go about it.

Depends on what is causing the slowness
If it is resources or shared server then v4.4 may need even more resources than you are using now
If it is database size then you may need to archive some records
To upgrade the database and find out procedures

You need to check any plugins you are using have a version for v4.4 as they need to be compatible
If you have any customised code - that needs upgraded manually
