Mailchimp Plugin Subscriber issue

Hello! We use the mailchimp sync plugin to keep our customers in the mailing list of Mailchimp for big monthly alerts. We have an issue where many of our users who are newsletter subscribers in our store are  being marked as non-subscribers in the mailChimp list. The plugin details only say that the Nop newsletter subscription is the flag that translates to being a subscriber in Mailchimp. After doing some major digging on Mailchimp's side, their technical team stated that the users are being sent to their system as non-subscribers, not that they are somehow globally unsubscribed from Mailchimp as I initially suspected.

Has anyone else had experience with this? Is there some kind of bug in the plugin where some scenario causes users to not be marked as subscribers? We can't find the commonality of the users that are blacklisted. Greatly appreciate it!

The plugin says users marked as newsletter subscribers in Nop are transferred as "subscribers" into Mailchimp, but my resulting list has many not marked as subscribers which i now can't send alerts. Mailchimp claims they are able to receive subscribers when marked as such so I believe its an issue with the Mailchimp plugin as of now..

Nop 4.20. I've done manual syncs and automatic syncs, and resynced the whole customer list and always same result.

Is it possible your customers are unsubscribing (from nopCommerce)?
Do you have this setting True?  customersettings.newsletterblockallowtounsubscribe

Hi,

I hope you're doing great. You can do this. Go to the plugin configuration page. There is a "Sync subscribers" option there. If you enable that, the subscribers will be synced to your MailChimp account. Also, you can select the list that you want the subscribers to be synced with it. Note that the sync subscribers process and sync e-commerce date process are separate from each other. If you don't want to sync the e-commerce data, so don't config any store from "Store synchronization" page.
If there are any questions or concerns, please contact us.

I appreciate these ideas!
It does not seem possible that the customers are unsubscribing > I will try updating that setting (it is false), however I can see that specific users are marked as Subscribed in the Customer Admin area, but not listed as subscriber in Mailchimp. If they unsubscribed from Nop it would list them as not subscribed in Nop.

Here you can see the number of subscribers straight from the database, and then how many subscribers in the synced list.. (163 in data marked subscriber, 131 making it to Mailchimp). This disparity makes me thing the issue is on the Nop Commerce side, not something off with Mailchimp.

As for the plugin settings, I have tried Manually syncing, auto-syncing, and syncing with or without the e-commerce data, all to the same results.

Hi @joeobrien90

We checked the plugin for version 4.40 and fixed some problems, but since you are using version 4.20 this could not affect the solution of your problem. However, we tested several cases in the hope that we can reproduce the error, but the list of subscribed users is synchronized correctly. Could you provide more information about the records in the NewsLetterSubscription table than the posted records differ from those that were not in sync?
Probably, the problem was also fixed when updating the plugin to the latest version, so if possible try to use the plugin version 2.27 or higher.

I will try a fresh install and connect it to a new mailchimp account just to see and report back, thanks Dmitriy!
