Banners on home page stretching

I removed the default banners and when i added my own; no matter the quality or resolution they still come out very blurry. i think it has something to do with the images stretching; any suggestions?

Did you try to change images through the Nivo slider plugin or did you try in another way? Can you please elaborate?
