New Product default values

Hi, I have a lot of products to add. I thought I needed a new product template but when I navigated to System -> Templates -> Product templates I realised that it was not what I expected. This seems more about creating a new view that nop commerce can use.

I need is Catalog -> Products -> Add New to load with some default values which I define. Is this possible?

You can use a product as a template.
Set up the First product then use Copy product and rename / change SKU and save
Go back to First product which is your template and repeat

Sounds like maybe your looking for the import products feature at the top of the products screen.

But I have no products to import. They need creating. Import products would imply (to me) that I want to take products from another no commerce instance and add the to this one, is that not the case?
