Payment modules
Choosing the right online payment provider is crucial for ecommerce stores profitability. There are different things to consider when choosing payment services.
Merchant account or regular account?
Some payment gateways require creating a merchant account, some can draw money to a store owner's existing account. The latter ones, have a shorter setup time, but per transaction fees are higher. Bigger stores choose services with merchant accounts: when it comes to big volumes lower fees matter.
Hosted or integrated?
There are two basic ways of accepting payments:
Hosted payment solutions redirect the customer to payment processor. The pluses here are that the processor is responsible for PCI compliance and security. The drawbacks would include lower UX and lower conversion rates.
Integrated payment providers accept payments on merchant site seamlessly, but they imply more responsibility to store owner.

Authorize.Net is one of the world's largest premier payment gateways, serving over 400,000 merchants. It provides subscription capabilities, and simple checkout options. Merchants log into a secure website called the Merchant Interface to manage their transactions, configure account settings, view account statements, generate reports and more. Since the payment gateway is a browser-based hosted solution, there is no software to install or maintain.
2Checkout to accept 26 currencies in 15 languages. The dashboard includes sales history and trends and the option to grant various amounts of access to different users. For a business that brings in a few thousand dollars per month or less, there might be a higher discount rate from 2CO than what's offered by standard merchant accounts.
Beanstream currently provides payment, risk management, and authentication solutions to companies across North America and Canada. Beanstream's features include risk scoring, no downgrades or locked contracts, no monthly setup or hidden fees, card storage vault, multi-currency support, customized risk preferences, and real-time reports.
Qualpay provides integrated payment solutions. The company offers a multichannel cloud-based processing platform that provides a combined merchant account with solutions that enable businesses to accept payments across their sales channels. Its platform enables in-person, online, mobile, mail, and telephone order processing for merchants.
BluePay is a payment processing company that provides services to businesses based in the US and Canada. The company offers a payment gateway for online payment acceptance, although it also sells a POS system. BluePay's features include hosted payment pages, virtual terminal, reporting, recurring billing and electronic invoicing, Levels 2 and 3 credit card processing, and PayPal integration.
G2A PAY is a convenient online payment ecosystem allowing instant access to over 200 global and local payments including credit / debit cards, Skrill and PayPal - in over 80 currencies. G2A PAY is accessible on a range of devices, speaks in 23 languages, and reaches more than 170 countries.
Shipping & Delivery
nopCommerce offers integration with the major carriers - FedEx, USPS, UPS, Canada Post - out of the box. But maintaining the business requires much more like tracking and insurance.

SSL Certificates and Security
For users who manage their SSL certificates, themselves nopCommerce can offer good SSL certificates options. The SSL certificate applies the encryption to all website activity, including page and form submissions, and financial transactions. This prevents data theft or other such attacks. Google started to rank websites secured with SSL/TLS higher than an unsecured one, assuming all other factors were the same.
