nopCommerce 4.30 is officially released! This release has become the most long awaited in the history of the platform, but we managed to implement a bunch of significant changes in it. nopCommerce now has even higher performance and security level, and working with the platform is even more convenient. Significant performance enhancement
4.30 is the fastest version of nopCommerce ever: we revised its caching system and moved away from Entity Framework. The performance has multiplied – even compared with the 4.20 version (that already got 100/100 at Google PageSpeed). The store on nopCommerce 4.30 works faster, making it more convenient for the customers to browse through the site, view the products, and make purchases.
Besides performance enhancement, moving away from EF allowed us to start supporting MySQL. Also, nopCommerce now supports migrations, so you'll be able to upgrade nopCommerce without the SQL scripts in the future versions.
Upgrade to .NET Core 3.1
We always use cutting-edge technologies. Now nopCommerce uses the latest and major version of .NET Core. The most important feature is that .NET Core 3.1 is a long-term supported release and will be supported for three years. For the store owner, it means that for all this time, Microsoft will provide fixes and updates, so your site will be secured from malicious attacks.
We recommend that you upgrade your website to nopCommerce 4.30 and start using .NET Core 3.1 now. It'll make your websites much faster and more secure.
MySQL support
You can use nopCommerce with MySQL. One of the most demanded features is now available out of the box.
Though Linux support was added in the 4.20 version already, it allowed hosting nopCommerce on Linux machine with paid Microsoft SQL Server only. Adding support for the free and highly popular MySQL database proved to be a complicated and time-consuming task. But we recognized how important and demanded it is in our community. And now, with MySQL support in 4.30, our users can launch the store at a minimal cost.
Facebook Pixel
For store owners, nopCommerce 4.30 provides an excellent tool for sales increase - Facebook Pixel plugin. It allows you to track your website visitors' actions, optimize your Facebook ads, build targeted audiences to make personal offers for them, and remarket to people who have already taken some kind of action on your website.
