Problem to setup gmail as mail account

Hello,

I have problem to set-up gmail account. I tried everything on the forum, still have problems.

This is how i configure it:

email address: [email protected]
Diplay name: Test
Host: smtp.gmail.com
port: 587
user: [email protected]
password: password
ssl: checked
use default credentials: not checked

When i try to send test e-mail i get this message:
The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required

Please let me know how can i fix this, because its crucial to our client.

Uncheck the SSL > Save the changes.

Try sending a test email now and if it does not send, check the SSL again, save changes (try sending the test mail again).

When i uncheck ssl error again:

When i check back SSL:

The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required. Learn more at

Did you click on Change Password after typing the password. Save and edit won't save the new password.

The password its the same. I re-enter the password, click change password, then i click save. Then i send test mail. same problem

I manage to solve this. Configuration is not the problem. You should change settings on Gmail.

1st: https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps : Should be Turned on.

2nd: https://accounts.google.com/b/0/displayunlockcaptcha

And all works now :)
