change the shopping cart page

Hi

I am new to this so i just need a starting point.  I want to change some things from the shopping cart page for example remove the search functions, make steps text bolder, change the shopping cart image to a different image and remove sub-total, shipping and vat.  Can you tell me where i go to change these.

remove the search functions in modules / headermenu.ascx and in modules / searchbox.ascx

go to the app_themes folder and change the css to make steps text bolder, change the shopping cart image to a different image.
