Would it be an idea to check for nessary permissions for Excel/PDF export and hiding/disabling buttons accordingly?

ah it seems that 1.70 fixes this! ;-)

I also noticed the switch to ASP.Net 4.0... What if ASP.Net 4.0 is not yet supported on our servers?

PS: The oledb provider used for Excel etc. is not supported on 64 bits platforms.

Version 1.70 looks like it will Hide the options to export the order in PDF or Excel, but will there be another way to view the order details all on one page (Packing Slips and/or Invoice) while running in Medium Trust? An HTML version of the Invoice and/or Packing Slip that can be viewed in a browser and then saved would be great for those running on Godaddy and Rackspace Cloud. Is this possible?
