Google web tools reports hundreds of Error 404

Hello,
watching Google Error 404 report in web tools there are hundreds of links that no longer exists.
This is due to products that no longer exixt or are unpublished, and similarly to categories.
Watching Search engine friendly names page all those URLS are present, but all active.

How should it work? That disabled slugs are not mapped in site.xml sent to google? How can I remove broken links? Do I have to set at false IsActive flag in UrlRecord table according to EntityName type and related publish or deleted fag status?

You should do url rewrite rule at web config.
