Remove .aspx

Hi Guys using larry's trendy shoes template as a basis for a site.. i know it's not specific to his template..

just wondering is it possible to use routing to remove the aspx extension or can you do it out of the box with the url rewrite module.. i just don't want the aspx extension at the end of my urls!

would i have to create different types of rules for product/category etc and then turn off url rewriting?
