I'm reviewing ecommerce tools for one of the online bookstore which would have thousands (at least 50000) books.

I've seen the nopcommerce demo and somehow feel that the demo is relatively slower, I'm wondering how would my site scale and perform with huge data.

can anyone suggest, should i go with nopcommerce and host it on shared hosting like arvixe.com?

need someone to suggest based on personal experience with nop having huge data.

thanks for the reply. i've gone through those threads and what I understand is, people are having problem and they need to optimize the DB by adding indexes etc (correct me if my perception is wrong), to some extent it is the hosting which is the problem.

Do I need to go for a dedicated box to host 50 to 100 thousand products?

is there any place where i can get the optimizations be it indexes or the c# code so that, post my setup, i simply put those optimization in place? any thoughts here?
