Documentation inconsistency with the code

First I am a new comer to nopcommerce. I have a project to work on and have decide to give nopcommerce a look in as it seems the nearest to my current needs per this project. Now I expect it to take a fair bit of figuring out because I am a starter here and that's where the documentation comes in.
After setting up, I decide to pick a first task which is to try and change the logo from the code (the simplest task) obviously since I would like to customize the UI. I follow the instructions here:https://docs.nopcommerce.com/en/developer/design/customizing-theme.html which clearly isn't up to date and had to search till I found this ->https://blog.everleap.com/3-different-ways-to-upload-your-logo-in-nopcommerce/. It's should be a guide but it doesn't quite guide if it isn't up to date and brings me to my question:

I do need to get a version of the code based that matches with ''an available documentation" which I can sort of rely on to get going since am kind of a starter here. Is there a way to match the docs with the versions of the code? Even if it means going for an older version. This I would deeply appreciate. Thanks in advance guys!!!

You are going to find many different documents about nopCommerce online not all of them are official documentaton or up to date

The main documentaion is https://docs.nopcommerce.com/en/index.html and in most cases this is going to refer to the current version 4.3

The document link you were looking at is in the development/design section
https://docs.nopcommerce.com/en/developer/design/customizing-theme.html
This relates to development and creating/changing themes which maybe comes later

To change the logo from Admin official documentation is correct
https://docs.nopcommerce.com/en/getting-started/design-your-store/uploading-your-logo.html

Hi,
Thanks for the prompt response. Definitely encouraging.  Going to the developer guide was deliberate to get a feel of what it is to like codewise. I meant to follow that tutorial and the ones on developing plugins to really get a feel of it.  I am well aware of the capabilities that are in the admin panel and how customizable it is but I also believe that I will need a bit of coding here and there to achieve what I truly want.  It's why I went for the source code version and the thing is that good (accurate)  developer guides help to save time.   Thanks.

You should check the plugins section if you want  to get your hands dirty with  the code.
Even before that make sure you get a feeling about the whole architecture of the project.

@alexchr!
Thanks. Looking at the plugins section was  definitely the plan. Something I failed to mention was that the blog link that had the accurate information above is about 2 year old.  It would suggest that the portion of the docs I was following had been outdated for at least as long. That just makes one wonder how many sections of it are actually  reliable.  But the positive here is that real people actually do respond so it would be possible to get help if necessary. I am still keen on giving it a go
