FedEx Shipping Calculation

FedEx works great when using with nopcommerce. Even getting an account is faster than UPS.

I am curious, How fedex calculates the shipping price.

Is it based on weight, Dimensions, Price, Destination address.

Some local companies charge only based on weight and Destination address , btw which is cheaper than fedex and ups.

It will be helpful if someone sheds some insight.

I contacted FedEx and their rep said price is primarily calculated weight and shipping address.

Other factors like dimension, product value is also considered. But primarily weight and shipping address
