SKU per variant attribute

I can't use variant attribute because I have many products that have one sku per color and/or size.

I would like to specify a sku per attribute combination for only one product variant.

Has somebody this same problem ?

Old post but valid question...  I cant find this answer to save my life.  any help would be awesome bc as of right now it looks like I have to put in a variant for every size and color combo possible which also stinks for searching among other problems.
