HI All,

Is there anyway to implement in the site to search the products by colors
Example exact like this : http://www.utsavfashion.com/store/catalog.aspx?ctid=7612&cid=1&path=HP

I know we can create product attributes as variant. But what i need it should be searchable by the user.

If user select the Red color, whatever products have red color should be displayed in a list.

Please reply to me if you got an answer,

Best Regards,
Rooban

Check Premium Fashion Theme which we are implementing in a couple of sites. The theme is awesome and thier support excellent. Check example and forum thread:

Step 1

1. Go to "Catalog/Attributes/specification attributes" in back end
2.click "add new"
3. type "colours" in the name field then click "save and continue edit"
4. select the options tab
5.click "add a new option"
6. in the name field type your first colour and click "save"
7.repeat steps 5 & 6 until you have all your colours and click save

Step 2

1.go to "catalog/products/manage products" in the back end
2. pick an item and click "edit"
3. go to the "specification attributes" tab
4. make sure the attribute "colour is selected in the pane and select the appropriate colour from the "attribute option" drop down list for your item
5. Tick the "allow filtering" button
6. Click "add attribute" then  save the product
7. repeat 2-6 for the rest of you products

Now whenever you are on a page in your store with any products that have a colour assigned you will see a filter box with all the colours for all the items on that particular page. This has css assigned to it so is fully style-able.
The filter will only apply for products in the category you are viewing.

The only way I can see to do this globally is to add tags for colour to every product so that the tag cloud can be used and the search function.
I have no idea how to add colour swatches to the filter list but would really appreciate it if anyone can point us in the right direction.

Hi,

Instead of popular tags can we have a set of colors clicking on which will take to a page where all dresses of that color can be displayed?
