Category Specifications Attribute Template

Specification attributes can be used to filter items on the category details page, yet there is no mechanism for (admin) data validation where you want to insist or recommend that all products in that category carry certain attributes. For example (using store demo) -

Category  - Computers -> Notebooks

Filter by attribute options - CPU Type, Memory

You could add a product to this category and not provide any of these specification attributes.

The suggestion is to have another tab on the Category setup page where you can opt to select any attributes that all products associated with this category *must/can have. Could maybe prepopulate the specifications attributes on a new product when the category is selected.

*A field would be used for each category attribute template record for the "Severity", i.e.

  Enforced - A product MUST have this attribute
  Warning - It is recommended you specify this attribute for this product but will still save if not
