Error 404. The requested page (/xmlrpc.php) was not found and vairous others

hi there

im using version 4.2

im going through my log errors in the admin control panel

there are lots of strange 4040 errors for pages that do not exsit and have never existed

i.e.

Error 404. The requested page (/xmlrpc.php) was not found
Error 404. The requested page (/wp-login.php) was not found
Error 404. The requested page (/.env) was not found
Error 404. The requested page (/bak/) was not found
Error 404. The requested page (/wp2/) was not found
Error 404. The requested page (/new-site/) was not found
Error 404. The requested page (/2020/) was not found
Error 404. The requested page (/Инструкция) was not found

does anybody understand why we get thse ?
can we just ignore them or do we have to take some action?

Third party service is trying to ping random URLs. There is nothing to be affraid of.
Check user, if will find builtin@search_engine_record.com that was done by search engine crawlers.

You can disable the logging of 404 errors with Setting
commonsettings.log404errors
