Column Colors where are these defined in css

Hello All,
I am working on doing some rebranding of my site and using the darkOrange theme as the base line. I know the master page columns are defined in the masterpage directory but where in the css file are the column colors define?  For example I want to change the left column color scheme from the standard dark and light grey with Orange titles to a different colors.  Hopefully that makes sense.

Any info you have is greatly appreciated!

in styles.css file look for comment:

Sidebar are based in there.
