Displaying Product in New Product Section

I am importing product programatically from another database to nopcommerce. While importing i want to put certain products in "New Products" section based on the "newarrival" field which is when true come under this section. I have made some research and found nopcommerce "New Product" section works on the basis of CreatedOn field and only latest 8 of added products can be displayed. This is not good for me because i have alot of products and also they must be added to this section on the basis of boolean field rather on date.
