Paypal Direct Not Working - nop 3.5 error code

HI,

I had paypal direct working, I tested a payment two weeks ago and it went through and processed with paypal and my bank accounts. (I posted a social media announcement about my site and new business live to the world today and come to find out that it's not working) I get the following error code...

Payment error: LongMessage: This transaction cannot be processed due to an invalid merchant configuration. ShortMessage: Invalid Configuration ErrorCode: 10501


I don't think I have paypal pro, but paypal just gives me the api information that worked with Nop 3.5 and paypal direct 2 weeks ago. And yes I have all my api info correct in nop. (I'm very confused on how to get to a paypal pro site, as when I login to pro I just go to my normal account with the same api info. furthermore paypal has something called paypal flow, which is almost the same name as pro, and a business section so nothing makes sense or has no instructional design, so is very confusing.)


I suppose the ultimate question is how do i get paypal Direct working with my paypal account?

I searched the error code on this page:

https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/api/errorcodes/

And it says "Occurs when the billing agreement is disabled or inactive.".
Try to fix that and see if it works.

I went into my paypal account everything looks fine and activated, and like I said it worked two weeks ago.

I don't understand what in paypal I am looking for to enable it or make my account it active?


Can someone just explain to me if Nop 3.5 paypaldirect works with the paypal business api and how to get it working? is that the issue?

Fixed the issue.... I had the wrong URL (was http://www. and needed to be https://(no www in my url)  so paypal made the account inactive since they could not verify the website. If you get this error code below...

You need to do the following to fix it:

1.) Go to https://www.paypal.com/businessprofile/settings  then under Business Information(select update)and then update all your information.

2.) Next - Call paypal ask for payments pro, have them review your account information and make the account active.
