How to insert JS in Topic page

Does anyone know how to insert Java Script into topic pages?  The script needs to go in the head section but the only head section I can find is in the Root.Master page.

Correct the head is stored across all pages.  I would place a contentplaceholder in the head section of root.master and then another one in 1column.master 2column.master etc and then you will be able to use it in topic pages.  But then you will kind of have the same issue that ALL topic pages will share the same JS. You could then maybe alter you js to check the url or something.

The lightbox on the product page works off the jquery.js, but I don't see how it is referenced.  How is the lightbox implemented in the product page?

The lightbox code is registered in the code behind of the user control.
