Do you need ASP.NET 4.0 for 1.90?

I'm trying to upgrade a site from 1.8 to 1.9 and have just discovered that the host provider only supports .NET 2.0! NopCommerce 1.8 works fine on it but I'm having no end of trouble getting 1.9 to work.

Does 1.90 need ASP.NET 4.0 installed?

It's a strange one, though. The host claims on their information pages that they support .NET Framework up to 3.5 but in the control panel you can only select 1.1 and 2.0. And like I said, 1.80 works fine on it. Think I'll have to open another thread and go through the upgrade procedure properly just in case.

I can get 1.6 to run on 4.0 on my dev machine but not on the host.  Trying to upgrade to 1.9 - hopefully to resolve.
