Are We Being Targeted?

Ok folks. This is strange. Instead of trying to explain the problem, let's see it:



Someone appears to be using a robot or something to create customers!! I honestly don't know why someone would do this. Has anyone noticed this on your sites?

It appears the robot always uses "google" as the company name. Is there an easy way to prevent these customers from being created? I suppose I could just override the current code to check for that, but any ideas?

Does anyone have any idea why someone would target us like this? It seems benign, but there can be no good reason that I can think of???

One more thing, we run another site using NopCommerce and it's not happening there, so this appears to be targeted..?!

Generally enabling the Honeypot option from the General settings page is enough to prevent automated registrations. If not then you could enable the Captcha for the registration page too.
