I don't work with the source code, so I was kinda hoping that the 4.0+ versions of the plugin would just be re-released with the fix already applied..
As it is, there is already a strange anomaly that causes a major discrepancy with the number of paid Paypal orders versus the number of registered conversions shown in Google Analytics. I'm not sure that this will fix the issue, but it's bound to help.
