How do I enter or change prices?

Hi I'm new to this program. I've purchased the manual, but I can't find out how to add or change prices. Can anybody help?

catalog --> products -->manage products     add new


if you have created a product already, go to the product and click the     product variants(sku) tab   and click edit to edit the variant info - you will see peices here
