Click a Category and Display a Product

Someone probably has done this, but I haven't found it posted in the forum yet. In the standard install if you click a parent category, the child categories will show in the center of the web page. What I want is to click the parent category and all of the products from the children categories will show in the center of the web page. I hope this makes sense.

if you are displaying all the products here, surely you don't need to use child categories? just put all the products in the parent category
