Date Picker Product Attribute Date Format

I'm using a date picker as a product attribute that allows the user to select day, month, year. This is then displayed in the cart and admin as the full day of the week, day, month, and year, such as Tuesday, March 02, 1915. Is there a way to format this date to show just the day, month, year as 02/03/1915?
