Some of the changes were made in core code, so it won't be enough to just have new plugin.  Typically, they don't release change versions, unless there are serious flaws.   But, there have been a few 'bugs' fixed in the last month of checkins, so maybe we just need to ask loudly for a 3.81 ;)
