Installation first then features

Folks
In this day and age with so many one click install web apps a smooth install is really one of the first and most important.
Think of it this way. If the user cannot install the solution then none of the features matter. Do they?
nopCommerce is quite a power full solution.
However the install is so fiddley that it will put off most users who are not very technical.
Version 3.9 install is brilliant

Version 4.0 install is near impossible on many hosting environments.

Version 4.1 install works with a bit of fiddling or a lot of fiddling depending on the hosting platform.

Which then begs the question. Was the move to Dot Net Core worth it?

its really the little things that mean the most in some cases.

Thanks for an amazing web app :) nop Commerce is really brilliant once you get it running.

That's a hard (and some times subjective) question in my opinion. It's the choice of "using new technology" and "making most people happy" just like what most technology projects will face.

If you have been with nopCommerce long enough, you'll note that they always try to catch up with technology. It's really not easy, changing from old MVC to new MVC definitely involves a lot of effort. So kudos to the team!

And let's think about it this way: 3.90 itself is a very complete system on its own right. Feature-wise, there's basically very little difference between 3.90 -> 4.00 and 4.10.

So I would say - if you want to stay in your comfort zone, don't even bother to switch to 4.00 or 4.10. The new .Net Core isn't for everyone, there are so many new things.

Just my 2 cents though, definitely does not represent nopCommerce team. :)
