Hello . I am a .net developer ( actually switched to nodejs recently for some projects ) - and I like the idea of a compiled application as an e-commerce store.
I have a Magento 1.9 Multi site ( 4 countries ) that might have a maximum of 100 concurrent users. To be honest - Magento has been a horrible experience and I have had to try different developers from other parts of the world to cost effectivly maintin the site. Even yesterday some random issue screwed up all my product pages and redirected them to search ( with no changes to any code for months ) . We used certified Magento developers - but it really has caused me a lot of pain.
I had a "play" with version Nopcommerce 4.2 and it seemed ok. I had a few issues running things to start with but on the whole works well.
The general "feel" for me about nopcomerce is that maybe it is not really suitable for a growing business , maybe ok for small going to medium size business. Is that correct?
- I can't find any statistics on the site where load testing has been done
- Some of the plugins - well I was astonished how unprofessionally a paid extension would be released ( example: Shipping.Director - no manual after more than 5 years and they actually say this and say you should go to their blogs and look through them )
- Are there any plans to "vet" extension providers to make sure they write good code?
- Are there any recommendations for what spec hosting you would need for x numbers of concurrent users?
All I found were people complaining of the performance.
Is Nop commerce really a contender for Magento?
Thanks for your thoughts on all this.
