Problem configuring Paypal Commerce

I've tried a couple times now to use the "Sign up for Paypal" button when configuring Paypal Commerce, but every time I get the popup & confirm the values I am getting this error after it returns the application: "An error occurred during the onboarding process, the credentials are empty".

Any idea what this error means or what would be causing this?

You have setup a PayPal developer account ?
You have followed the instructions on the Payment Method config page ?
And you are entering the correct email address for your developer account ?

Are you trying to sign up from a local test site or from a production?

I have not setup a PayPal developer account.  I only have my business PayPal account that I was trying to use the email with.  This is what will be my production site (currently being setup).

What I did was enter in my email address in the email address box and clicked save.  Then I clicked on the "Signup for PayPal" button.  I then followed the dialog and authorized the site with the account.  When it completed it redirected me back to that configuration screen and gave me the error mention I originally mentioned.

I assume I need to check the box to "Specify API credentials manually" and follow those instructions also?

EDIT: I followed the steps for the manual configuration and got it working.

To complete the registration, all points must be checked (see screenshot). In addition, sometimes the redirect to the plugin configuration page runs before the information about successful registration comes, which can cause errors.

Anyway, you can create a developer account yourself and specify API credentials manually.
