Problem loaded images

Hi all,
I loaded some picture into the db from previous site.
During the view of the products I receive follow error NotSupportedException: Format of specified path  is not supported into the function newBitMap.Save(Path.Combine(this.LocalThumbImagePath, localFilename), ici, ep);

The image is a .gif file but I think that is possible to load also this type of file...

Any help please?
