Product attributes selectable / not selectable depending on selection?

The way the site is currently set up is it possible to be able to make available a certain option depending on a previous attibute?

Example we have 2 color options, Color 1 set has "Red, Green, Blue, Yellow," Color 2 set "Red, Orange, Pink, Purple."  Say someone selects "Red" from color 1 set, the only other options for color 2 set would be "Pink, Purple", if someone picked "Green", color 2 set options would be "Red, Orange, Pink."

How much customization was needed?  I assume there are some admin customization that is needed.
