Paypal and Debit card trnsactions.

This is almost funny,  my website fab totally created, stock, forums, blog.  
Now I obviously need to be able to accept payments.  I want to use Paypal,  and process debit cards.  I have absolutely no idea where to start.  Has anyone got an idiots guide?  I have bought 2 books on starting an on-line business,  and neither has any help on this subject.

I am using nopcommerce 1.9,  because apparemtly Godaddy only suports that.

I am not a programmer.   A freind set up the front end and it looks great, but I cannot rely on him anymore.

Paypal is a good one to start with.  Your customers can use Paypal standard even if they don't have a Paypal account.

I think I will have to hire a contractor to sort out Paypal.  However,  obviously I have concerns with giving access to the paypal account,  as that links to my bank account.
Has anyone got and advice on the subject of safe guarding my web-site and bank account when hiring a contractor?

Then how to start work for Debit card transactions..? what and where we have to do for it..? Is there is any configuration is available with in admin part..?  i am using nopcommerce2.60 version..
