It would be very useful if the html "title" attribute of the forum page topic anchors were used and set to the text of the last posted message. This would allow a hover message to be quickly read, and prevent all the clicks/time spent to get to the last posted message (especially when there is more than one page).
If a big effort to do all over, then at minimal, it would be done on the Active Discussions page.
